Happy One Year Anniversary San Francisco!
We have officially lived here for one year, and it flew by SO fast. There have been a lot of highs, and a lot of lows, but man do I love this city! Where do I even begin…
When we moved here last year, we decided to live in Oakland to be closer to Zach’s job. We lived in this adorable area called Jack London Square which had restaurants, shops, & was right on the water! At the time I didn’t have a job, so I would spend everyday walking around the square with Cooper and just enjoy the bay weather.
After a couple weeks it kind of hit me how lonely it was out here. Zach worked full time and was constantly traveling, I had zero friends & zero family out here, so it was just me and Cooper. I’m not kidding when I say we would go to the dog park like three times a day- We. Were. BORED. It got really hard for awhile, and I became super depressed. I would randomly find myself crying in public. It was BAD. The only good thing was the bordeom gave me a lot of time to work on my blog, which was great, but I knew there was so much more for me.
Zach was making so many friends & was loving his job, and it was hard to just sit at home and stare at the walls. I needed a friend BADLY, so I was constantly outside trying to meet people. I became very very desperate and what I did next was so out of my comfort zone, but I knew I had to try. I had joined Bumble. Not to date, but to use Bumble BFF in hopes of finding a friend or two!
Y’all.. I cannot even lie when I say I met my best friend on Bumble BFF. We had both just moved here, graduated from college the past months, and knew no one! We agreed how weird this was, but decided to grab a marg in the city. The rest is history! My sweet friend’s name is Natalie & she has been such a blessing since I moved here. She also has an AMAZING blog called Pastels & Passports that you HAVE to go follow: www.pastelsandpassports.com! (@pastelsandpassports).
It was so nice to finally have a friend that was similar to me & it started to seem like things were looking up. I then went into a boutique in Pacific Heights and gave my resume to a boutique owner and asked if she could pass my resume on to anyone she knew in the city! Luckily… she said she had a friend at Sephora 🙂 And that’s how I ended up at this wonderful place called Sephora HQ!
This job is my dream job. Hands down. Would work for free. I never thought in a million years I would get to work on the buying team for Sephora. I thank God everyday for this opportunity and am so blessed to get to live out my dream.
During Christmas of last year we moved to San Francisco. So we’ve been in the city for a little over half a year now, and we LOVE it. We are in the Marina District and two streets away from the water & Golden Gate Bridge. Doesn’t get more perfect than that! Zach commutes to East Bay for work, and I work in the heart of the city. And little Cooper goes to daycare down the street 🙂
We are so thankful to get to live here, and hope we get to stay for awhile. I can’t believe we are both out here living our dream’s & getting to explore this amazing city. I look back at my hometown, and all the same people moved back, hanging with the same people, doing the same things, and at first I really missed that. Looking back I am not sure why I ever did, because out here I feel like I am truly LIVING. Zach and I are on this crazy adventure and we get to try so many new things. It’s nice to meet all new people and experience all San Francisco has to offer!
Overall, it’s crazy how fast things can change. I lost all hope living in Oakland and spent 90% of my days crying, and now our lives have done a complete 180. Just goes to show that things can get better, and to never give up. Take risks and go outside of your comfort zone. Amazing things can come from it!!
Love you all! XOXO
